the State we are in / part I

2016 – 2019

Facades, proportions, scales, alignments, perspectives; when everything is demolished under a State led destruction, guidelines for pictorial depiction also disappear. Photographer's gaze gets lost in the ruins.

Using objects that are salvaged and smuggled out of the destroyed town of Gever, the work attempts to reestablishing the crooked geometry of photographic architecture in the frame.
